Scott has been coming up North for years now and helping hundreds of folks find the best variety to plant in their gardens. He comes with a full crew to answer any questions you may have, T-shorts, and his AMAZING cookbook (see recipe featured here). I personally have made half of the recipes in here but one of my all time favorites is Sams tomato Sourdough. It's so delicious!! For a list of places to buy the book online, click here.
You can count on detailed information from Scott when you buy. Write down your questions about planting and bring them with you. Scott lists his tips here too.

Geyserville Fire Participates in 10th Annual Bucket Brigade Blood Drive

Geyserville Fire Bucket Brigade

Geyserville Fire takes their Bucket Brigade title seriously.  And they want to keep it. They are four-time winners of the annual Bucket Brigade Blood Drive title trophy.  This year Santa Rosa Fire, Sonoma County Department of Fire and Emergency, Rancho Adobe Fire District, Graton Fire Protection District, Rincon Valley Fire Explorer Post 7510, Sebastopol Fire Department, and others all hosted their blood drives in December.

In addition to these departments, Geyserville will compete with fire fighters from Lake and Mendocino counties, as well as seasoned rivals from Cloverdale and Windsor.

The Bucket Brigade is coordinated by Blood Centers of the Pacific, who purchased the Blood Bank of the Redwoods several years ago and have kept this vital competition going. These blood drives provide a much needed infusion of blood into the system in the crucial winter months, where weather, illness and an increase in need mean that blood levels are often critically low.

You can help Geyserville Fire retain their Bucket Brigade trophy for the 10th Annual Bucket Brigade challenge by making an appointment through the Blood Centers of the Pacific website, or simply dropping by the Geyserville Fire Station on Friday, January 22nd, anytime between 2:30 and 7:30 pm.  Your donation could save a life!
